Is reposado tequila better than silver?

Neither is better overall. They suit different moments. Silver, or blanco, tequila is unaged or rested under two months, so it pours bright and peppery with the most direct agave flavor, which makes it popular in cocktails. Reposado rests at least two months in oak, picking up vanilla, caramel and gentle spice while keeping the agave in front. That balance makes reposado the easier choice for sipping neat or on the rocks.
